Predict your team's record

Give your team's overall record, which bowl you think they will get into, and some supporting reasons.  This should make for some good football discussion.

I'll go first:

Texas Tech

Opening the season with a soft out of conference schedule, the Red Raiders should have an easy time going 3-0 before opening conference play at home vs. Kansas.  The next three games will be a test of the Raiders' mettle as they travel to Lincoln to take on Nebraska, host Kansas State, and travel to Austin to play the Longhorns.   If all goes well, Tech should be 6-1 after a tough loss to Texas.  The Raiders should breeze by Baylor in Waco, and win a hard fought game vs. the Aggies at home.  The home stretch is tough, taking on Oklahoma State in Stillwater, and cracking helmets with the Sooners in Lubbock.  Depending on how the Longhorns do, this game could be for the South title.  In conclusion, I think the Red Raiders finish the regular season 9-2, losing to Texas and Oklahoma and earning a Cotton Bowl berth.

By the way, that's my official 150 word prediction for Red Raider Sports magazine...I was just too lazy to write another one  :P

Well I dunno.  Especially our defense was not supposed to be good, but at least we had a couple good DBs.  Enter "Antonio Cromartie tears ACL, out for season" ... and it's not looking good.  Offensively, two freshmen QBs, the only two scholarship QBs we have. WWWhat?  OK so our running backs are among the best in the nation, especially Leon Washington.  Booker still has "star potential" but so have many athletes.  He needs more carries, but that won't happen with Washington available.  Typical FSU schedule for a program with 3rd-best talent in the ACC.  I think that's where they'll finish also, and a pre-bowl ranking around #14, if we're lucky with the pollsters despite a 2 or 3-loss record and no Quality Wins.

FSU usually pulls off a miracle upset, I might give them a quality win... I'd guess a 2 or 3 loss season, looking at the schedule, is a good bet, but I wouldn't rule out only 2 losses.

As for Florida, I have no idea. I haven't seen enough. I think that everybody can admit that, just like FSU, UF tends to have an extremely talented team its a matter of putting all of the pieces together. I don't want to be an Urban freak, but it could be very good for the team. I know that the discipline level and the level of conditioning and fitness is back up to powerhouse SEC standards, but we'll just have to wait and see. Honestly I need to wait until the Gators can play an SEC rival and simply gauge their performance before I'd be willing to call a shot for the season. Top 15 is something that I'd be comfortable saying, at least after all the bowl games are said and done.

Blurb: The question marks for me as far as the early game with Miami and with the tougher teams like Virginia arise because of a number of factors. Freshman QB is an issue, in my opinion. Loosing an All-American CB certainly help the defense. Generally, I'm worried about FSU's motivation, but if they can pull of a win in Week 1, all that could change.

Texas Tech (Big 12) :: 2005 Schedule

Blurb: As a Gator, I had to promise a win over Florida State this year, and its not like it couldn't realistically happen. As far as the reast of it goes, Tennessee won't get lucky on bad calls this season, those punks are going down. Gotta look at some of the SEC teams and what happend to them... so we'll know soon. In all seriousness, passion as a fan aside, I don't see any reason why the Gators shouldn't be able to go perfect this season, but just as with everything else we'll just have to wait and see.

Blanks are things I'm still thinking about, got some reading to do.

Ok, I'm going to start threads for each team and pin them, anybody else who wants to join in this, post your team in this thread and I'll get a prediction thread going!
