Web Development / TurboGears
September 23, 2006, 01:14 PM
Does anyone have any experience with TurboGears?  I am mainly interested in any tutorials you have found useful.  I would look up individual tutorials on the included components, but that seems counter-productive, as TurboGears integrates everything together.  Thanks in advance.

General Discussion / Re: Vid card problem

Try uninstalling the onboard video from the device manager.  Uninstall the nvidia drivers if you have them installed.  Power down computer and put in the video card.  Boot up and it should recognize both the video card and onboard video as new devices, just skip the onboard video and install the nvidia drivers for the card when it asks you.

Nice to see another Gentoo user on the forum.

I don't think Gentoo would be a good choice in this situation unless you have ~2 days to install this machine.

An int array of 2x1600x1200x3?  IIRC ints are 4 bytes;  4*2*1600*1200*3 = 46080000 bytes / 1024 = 45000MB!!  That might be your speed issue right there.

What exactly are you wanting?  From what I understand, you want someone to redesign a message board layout and to make it look like the rest of the website?

Thing might know stuff about *bsd.

Xhtml for content, css for layout and pretty stuff.

Java Programming / imports
December 25, 2004, 03:28 AM
Is there any overhead incurred from importing all of the classes from a package? Example:
import java.somethingcool.*;
As opposed to just the class(es) you'll use:
import java.somethingcool.SomeClassA;
import java.somethingcool.SomeClassB;

I'm almost positive there's a MaxConnectionsPerClient or otherwise self-describing property buried somewhere in the config file.

I think Suse is putting 9.1 up on the ftp site Monday.  It's probably the personal edition but meh.
