Well, he posted on the vL forums, which is certainly not what I expected of anyone. He's off to a good start. :)

well i managed to get the wow remote app onto an android live CD booted environment, running on a virtual box

so i could dump its packets, it looks like alot of plain text, probably easily reversable

i also found out you can totally decompile the source for android apps into java ;)

so im going to do that tonight, this looks like it will go easily enough so far

no warden either

I can imagine they just used XML or JSON. I don't know that they'd feel the need to encrypt the protocol at all, since it can't control toons or play the game.

I have my motorcycle instruction permit, but no motorcycle. This is a problem. If anyone wants to give me a free motorcycle, preferably with wheels, let me know.

Or, I could buy a 1983 Honda Nighthawk. I think I'll did that. :)

Well...at some point in time Blizzard will migrate or work round having their older games' social features on b.net2. Now, the original b.net is just a thorn in Blizzards side and needs to be put down like an old dog.

I'd like to see how they do this. DRTL will be particularly tricky because it has no CD-Key to add it to your BNet account and I don't think any current Blizzard employees dare touch it's codebase.

I'm putting a nickle on them taking down BNet1 and having the former gateways act as "translation proxies" (is there official term? I made that up) to take you to BNet2. If this happens I think it'll mean that nobody will research BNet2 since all the past work will suddenly be relevant again.

That doesn't show you the filename (if you're doing multiple files) or the line the token appears on. I can tell I'm getting tired though because I felt like I wasted a ton of time for a few seconds there.
#8
I don't think there's been any substantial public Bnet2 research, although I'd love nothing more than to be corrected.

He's so cute when he's mad!

Best you could come up with to not look like an idiot? Too bad you still look like an idiot.

EDIT -
Done talking to brew. Can someone install the ignore mod so I don't have to read his idiocy?

First, this board needs a ruby forum. I write lots of things that I find kinda neat that I hope other people could use.

Code: https://gist.github.com/940265

Basically, I want to be able to search a file or files without having to open them, such as in a compile script or whatnot. Generally, it's for the words "to do" or something like that, to remind myself that I still need to do something.

Consider this test file:
[william@NCC-1701 ~/Dropbox]$ cat /tmp/filewithtokens
this is a test file
some of these lines have no tokens
but other lines do have to do tokens
like that one, but not this one

If I want to test it for the default tokens, I can do this:
[william@NCC-1701 ~]$ tokenls /tmp/filewithtokens
/tmp/filewithtokens:3: but other lines do have to do tokens

Perhaps you want to keep a really simple calendar:
[william@NCC-1701 ~]$ cat /tmp/appointments
2011/04/23 5:30PM Do something
2011/04/26 5:30PM Do something else

What do you have to do on the 26th?
[william@NCC-1701 ~]$ tokenls --tokens=2011/04/26 /tmp/appointments
/tmp/appointments:2: 2011/04/26 5:30PM Do something else

All the token checking is case insensitive, which I think is better since this was intended for code. If anyone has any ideas on how this could be made better, let me know. :)

By the way, that toast cat isn't the original. The song itself was a meme on nicovideo for quite some time.

Nyan nyan, nyan nyan, ni hao nyan! Gojasu derishashu dekaruchaa!
Joe no aho.
I believe "ni hao" is Chinese, and somehow you misspelled the romanization of "goyasu". Even then, your phrase makes no sense. "Ease your loveliness magical teaa"? Way to go.

Hey brew, you're a moron. See my signature for proof. Anyhow, those last three words are the Japanese pronunciation of English words, so there's no wrong way to spell them anyhow.

And yes, ni hao is Chinese. You did type something that was correct. You have hope yet.

(Please excuse the bump. I'm actually being relevant this time.)

Is anyone still interested in this? I actually have an Android phone, so I might care enough to do it, and if Hdx says JavaOp mostly runs..

Then again, my phone runs Froyo and I don't feel like spending money on an Eclaire device. I can try things in the simulator, though..

News / Re: Forum changes
April 25, 2011, 04:09 AM
Could you change the post author names to the same light blue as the board->category->forum tree? They're kinda hard to see.

Also, the buttons (preview/post, print/send this topic/mark unread/notify/reply) are kind of hard to see. They don't look very interactive.

Looking pretty good. :)

+1 for your characters name.

General Discussion / Re: Happy easter!
April 25, 2011, 03:22 AM
Heh. My parents had HughesNet until I taught them how to tether their cellphones. It's faster, lower latency, and a hell of a lot cheaper. We had a Charter office a mile away, and every few months I'd go bug them, and they'd reply, "in a few months".

Then I got a girlfriend and promptly GTFO'd my parents house.
