Where is a good source to get a new computer for a good value?

Build it yourself. You will save the most money that way and you will know exactly what you are getting. I get all my parts at newegg.com. If you are not looking for performance, but something like a $100 server, they have some barebone systems that would work nice, some have a proc board combo too.

I bought parts off eBay and built it.  Pretty cheap.

Jigsaw if you're looking to build it yourself, or pick your own parts, start with newegg.com, mwave.com, etc.  If you want good value, be selective in your parts.  Do not skimp on the power supply.  Do not skimp on the power supply.  Do not skimp on the power supply.  A cheap or inadequate power supply == early computer parts death.

Dont skimp on the mobo either. If you get a crap mobo you have no room to upgrade unless you buy a new mobo.
