Title: anonymous logon?
Post by: Laff on October 13, 2004, 06:11 PM
seeing as i probably won't be gettin a drawtext to the war3 screen working, i'm thinking about doing a simple bot to just logon and /w to my account.  can you still do anonymous logins or do i need to install starcraft and make an account?

Note that Anonymous logon cannot whisper users

You could make a CHAT bot that would be capable of whispering users. It would have to sit in a public channel somewhere though. Otherwise you could just make a bot that utilizes the binary protocol.

binary bot has a lot more involved than i'd like to do, and i've already made a chat protocol bot.  i just don't remember what programs (starcraft, diablo, d2, etc) can actually make accounts to use with this protocol.  it'd be great if i could use a warcraft account.

You can whisper from any Battle.net account, except the Anonymous account.

Currently, everything except Warcraft III and Warcraft III The Frozen Throne namespace accounts can be logged on through the chat gateway.
