Just started getting into pixel art, so I made this!

I like the Russell one, I think the colors blend well.
Thanks, I made it in Maxons Cinema 4D...took a while too. Then I just did some lighting in PS. Then I named it after me for some reason.

Made these last night, adding them to my portfolio as I type this. I really like them. I'm not going to put the title on my works anymore, I'm just gunna' make a big white border around them etc...What do you guys think of it?
They look interesting.
Do you plan out on paper what you're going to paint first, then spend hours doing it? Or do you slap some random colors on a digital image sheet then apply random filters?
Just curious.
QuoteDo you plan out on paper what you're going to paint first, then spend hours doing it?
Yes, I do.
I am fairly sure he just runs a bunch of filters.
When I am doing my abstract works I do plan out the look I am going for, like if I want a liquidy effect then I use whatever options I have to do that. Yes for my liquid one up there I used the chrome filter and a lot of the charcoal ones. Copied and made new layers, adding lighting and other filters. For the second one, I used some brushes and filters too.
He uses the "trial and error" technique, try a filter if it looks good keep it.
Couldn't you do something like this (http://razghul.ice.org/misc/zoom/zoom.htm) instead?

Nothing shows, and I did install the plugin.
Akamas what's your problem? You're the one who told me to use, "as many filters as you can, Photoshop has tons!", so thats what I am doing. Oh and by the way, I seen some of "your" work on other sites but created by someone else....
Name this movie:

That's strange. It shows up fine here. First you get an information text, then you click to start, and use up arrow to zoom in the details of the image.
weird. when i do that link now it still doesn't work. well ya i can do flash animations and all, im going to get an actionscript book pretty soon so i can make it more interactive for my portfolio. right now i can do motion tweening and shit like that.

Don't have a problem, I'm just saying you use the correct filters to achieve the correct effects.

Yeah, isn't it? Mitosis should be making those kind of images, not the plain simple ones he's doing now ;)

Art is a personal expression of the artist, not "What Adron thinks looks good".
On another note, I'm learning to do 3D rendering and animation, so I modeled and animated this thing. The camera work was not very good, but otherwise, I thought it turned out ok.

Of course. I'm just saying he could make them as detailed as the one I posted a link to ;)

Thats true, but what he's doing seems like he isn't expressing anything just a collection of random effects and filters. Unless he's actually trying to express something, if so what would that be, mitosis?
Btw, your hour glass looks pretty good.
I like futuristic liquid and grunge works.

Wow that is very cool. It would require a lot of time and effort to create something like that.
It's just a bunch of images then in flash they made it zoomable. Ya those images would be time hard to color them in and all, but the flash shouldn't be too difficult.
QuoteI like futuristic liquid and grunge works.
When you do your liquid and grunge works what are you trying to express?
For grunges usually just darkness, for the futuristic stuff it's just what I like.
Grunge would be a sign of depresion.
Grunge can also be a sign of anger.
It can be anything really from any persons point of view.
No one would really see grung as a happy look?

this is what i have added, made my own grunge brushes for it too and 3d model

Well, it was that picture, or the pink pastel intro.gif one. There's a flower that looks much more like a rose on that one, although no leaves.

That background style looks familiar...... :P ( http://www.qedft.com ). Meh, good job.
hahaha! well I'm pretty impressed with what I have done, I like it a lot.
Looks nice, gj ;)
For some reason, I'm fascinated by that avatar I've seen people use with the 3D yin-yang, so to continue to improve my 3D modeling skills, I attempted a recreation.
http://user.dark-wire.net/files/yinyang2.avi
that's cool man
I made this image to just play around with materials, basically. For any serious 3D artist, it's a joke, but I ended up liking it. The whole scene consists of 5 objects: the two cubes, the text, a light to test the materials, and a camera to get that cool point of view.
http://user.dark-wire.net/images/tehcubes.png
It's really nice, for a background I would think. If you plan on expanding it, maybe add some textyure to the cubes? New stuff in the background? Just an idea.
Currently setting up a Fan Site for World of Warcraft. This is what I have sofar.

More work in 3D Studio.
Overall it looks pretty good, but the bubbles don't look very good.
Add some fish and weeds, and it would look more non-bland!

I think that's due to the index of refraction. The one I used is closer to glass than whatever it should be.

Organic modeling is notoriously difficult, but that's what I'm working up to.

Wow nice art! Keep the good work up Mitosis
Thanks. Recently I just got back into hardcore design, since I thought I wanted programming. But really I just like 3d modelling and creating stuff. I'll get into more advanced programming later in life.
Anyways, thanks for the critiques. I will post more once they are made.
