World of Warcraft Stress Test Beta Set to Begin
The World of Warcraft stress test beta is just a day away. Hundreds of thousands of gamers applied for the stress test this past week, and FilePlanet was up to the task, issuing over 100,000 accounts and providing the stress test beta client for download. With the signups and downloads complete, we are just about ready to welcome these gamers into World of Warcraft for the very first time.

Starting tomorrow, September 2nd at 12:00 noon PDT, stress test beta participants will be able to create their World of Warcraft accounts and begin playing the game. Their participation will help us optimize our account-creation and server infrastructure, and enable us to deliver the best online experience possible when the game launches later this year. We want to thank everyone who applied for the stress test beta, and we look forward to seeing the new testers online tomorrow when the stress test beta starts.

I paid $25 for a key this morning, they ran out before mailing me my key. Yes, I paid for a key, get over it.

DAMN IT! They sent it to my other email address, I now have 2 keys. Oh well, it will be easy enough to make my money back by selling my other key lol.

Edit: Can't find the download page, can't find the page to register with the key, and someone sent me a fake (I think) email from "gamespy" to register. Anyone know where to download the client and exactly what you have to do?

The World of Warcraft stress test beta has begun! You can now create your stress test beta account and begin playing the game. Please check your e-mail inbox for a letter from FilePlanet with instructions on where to go to create your account.
After you have created your account, you will also be able to post in the stress test beta forum.

Please keep in mind that the stress test, the forums, and your stress test beta account, will all be closed on September 9, when the stress test beta ends. So, keep an eye on your inbox and hurry into Azeroth once you receive your email from FilePlanet. The World of Warcraft awaits!

Yes, that link isn't fake. I don't know why they linked to the ip but they did.

Also, I don't like the game that much..I can't figure out how to do anything. Like for instance when I am fighting, I push 1 to attack and he doesn't swing or anything. And I don't know where to go to go on bigger quests and stuff (I'm sure you're able to actually participate in the battle between horde/alliance)

Right click to target, and attack the creature. Account: TheLobo

I know you're supposed to right click to target, but in any case, 1 is supposed to select nearest creature and attack him.

My account is ZinZait. I don't know for how much longer, though. I died fighting these crabs twice and the second time I didn't feel like walking back to where I ded so I payed the spirit guy. Little did I know it doesn't puit me where my corpse is, so I had to walk anway. Then I was getting chased so I ran and dove into the water and explored some. I was going to this small island (chain of islands, actually) off the coast and was going up for air and my connection to the server dropped - when I got back on I had drowned. So, I took the 10+ minute walk back to where I died (they put me in a different spot this time, too, so I had to swim a lot.) Anyway, I get to the middle of the sea where I died and it won't let me resurrect my man! omg :(

I know you can, but this means I have to walk BACK to the graveyard - then back to where I died to complete the quest.

Edit: And lose another 140 XP

I don't care enough to watch a single picture load for 10seconds. I haven't spent much time on it either,  but the game is nice.

Greatest moment the other day - I spawned as a new Tauren and got a good 75% of the people in the camp to have a spontaneous dance party.

Good fun.

yayay, I played like 5 minutes today (then the server crashed, lol), but plan to play a bit longer. Does anyone know how much it's going to cost?

I'm guessing $60-80 CAD for the game and $10-$15 USD/month.

I sold my extra key for $46, and e-mailed the second highest bidder if he would like to purchase my account with the characters for $50. WoW is right.

Edit: Sold my account for $45, fortunately I don't think he can change the password so I can still play in the early morning without him noticing :D

You can change your password via the WoW website.

Well, I hope they don't find that out. I was getting tired of playing WoW anyways, I made 4 characters and got them each to about level 8, don't know why I couldn't just stick with one but it started getting boring.

Yeah, I havent pushed any of my characters past lvl 12

I know I will have more fun when my friends are playing with me.  Games like this just suck when you are alone (atleast in my opinion they do)
