Title: Why might BNET close your account?
Post by: ChR0NiC on August 20, 2004, 07:42 PM
As Yoni showed us, 0x0F is now a possible response for 0x55 and 0x54. I received

Quote
[5:40:12 PM] Error:  Your account has been closed

Moments after I changed my account's password and my key was jailed, anybody know why they usually do this?

Maybe the server doesn't like you changing passwords using a jailed cdkey? :P

Currently, the only use of that response is to notify you that your account has been closed for hacking on Warcraft III.  Quit being a newb, and don't hack.

I don't hack, and don't be so negative man, I didn't do anything to you.
Only thing I ever did was try to change my password on W3 via my bot using a hash connection and I had alot of failed attempts until I finally got it to work. Five minutes after I succesfully changed the password they closed my account, the key was not jailed until after my account was closed, and I don't play W3 and I do not use "hacks"

I assume then, you weren't the legitimate owner of said key?  If not, then perhaps the legitamate owner could have reported it stolen?

Sorry to bring this back, but did that message happen to have a (7) at the end of it?  If so, according to ChadJ, that means your account was closed as a result of offensive/racist comments.

What could the other 6 codes be then? They covered everything bad with 7 and 8.
