Title: A Matter of Character
Post by: hismajesty on August 05, 2004, 06:55 PM
Got this in an email from the GeorgeWBush.com mailing list.

QuoteDear Matthew,

Tired of seeing book after book with distortions and inaccuracies about our President?

We have a must-read for you.

Today, August 5th, a new presidential biography by Independent journalist Ronald
Kessler, hits bookstores across America. In this book, A Matter of Character,
Kessler describes the real President George W. Bush - a decent, humble and honest
man who exhibits true character.

Kessler, who voted for Al Gore in 2000 but had a change of heart after getting to
know President Bush, went behind the scenes interviewing dozens of White House
aides, several Cabinet members and top presidential advisors. He came up with an
important conclusion: President Bush has the character to lead our nation at this
crucial time.

A Matter of Character is a breath of fresh air in a time when Democrat organizations
and several Hollywood celebrities will say anything - however untrue - to tear down
our President. Don't miss the opportunity to hear why the President's critics have
it all wrong.

I wonder if this book is as objective as the movie Fahrenheit 9/11.  And shouldn't this be in Media Motel?

On a related note, while browsing through related items, I came across this:

Go to the Editorial Reviews section, and read the first one -- Amazon.com.  Note the first link -- Documentary Filmmakers (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/author=Moore%2c%20Michael/104-0412873-3730355).

That's right!  Evidently Michael Moore is a documentary filmmaker!

I guess documentaries aren't meant to document something (you know, that little word that implies non-bias).

I didn't even think about Media Motel. I suppose if it's a problem it can be moved.

That's because moveon.org is protected by the guarantee of freedom of speech. When you're in the military, some of that freedom is taken away.

Sure it does. If he's saying that this book is an anti-Bush book, and this book is a factual book about Bush, then he's saying Bush's entire life/presidency/whatever else is in the book was bad and something that could be written in a Bush bashing book. Feanor is a Bush-hating raging liberal, so I assumed he was saying something along those lines.

What are you talking about? These are vietnam swift boat sailors, they are not enlisted anymore. But no one criticizes moveon.org for their crap when the swiftboat sailors are. The swiftboat sailors have the same rights moveon.org has because the swift boat guys are civilian.

I think you are putting too much thought into what feanor is thinking. So I will say it again, it did not sound sarcastic to me.
