Ew, I have a knife that can do that and it doesn't cost an extra $43!
I have a method that I've been using. Pop your CD into the microwave and set it on high. Push start and watch the fireworks! You only have to do it for a few seconds and it is permanently destroyed. It looks cool too!

I heard that it looks really cool! Perhaps I should burn some sensitive data on a cd, just so I have an excuse to microwave it :)

What type of data gives the best show? Porn?
I perfer to just "Pop"(Just hold it around the edges and squeeeeze) the CD's into the nearest trash can. Completely destroyed, minimal effort, nice and quick.

Not yet. I've done it many times at my office and it still works fine. When I show it to people they almost always jump and it's fun to watch the look on their faces.
I noticed after u do it the house smells bad for awhile not a good smell eaither

That would be the toxic fumes released from burning plastic? Possibly breaking your microwave a bit too...
I've done it once, I've gathered that:
1 second = raw
2 seconds = well done
3 seconds = overcooked
4 or above = fire hazard
The best time to cook a CD in the microwave is exactly one twinkling, which is about 2.3 seconds.

A bad smell that's not good? Good heavens!
When I did it, it smelt like bacon....
