Post by: hismajesty on June 23, 2004, 10:19 PM
Yay, time to upgrade! (http://www.slackware.com/announce/10.0.php)

(thanks to Hitmen for disrupting program testing to tell me about it ;))

Tmp once told me never to get Linux x.0 builds, wait for .1.  He said that 8.1 and8.2 are better than 9.0, or something like that.  Of course, there's nothing wrong with trying it, but if you need stability/security, stick with .1 version.

Quote<xar> well thats not true really
<xar> x.0 is the official release
<xar> x.1 would be the bug fixes
<xar> if it was redhat
<xar> i'd be like
<xar> ok yeah
<xar> but slackware
<xar> its built like a tank

They contradict each other too much. xar seems to think it's ok..*trys to decide*

Tmp never said it directly about Slackware, he was talking in general.  I would listen to Xar in this case.
