I have several that I use, but did you know that the entire point of having a username/password for them is so that other people don't use them?

FTP Sites? Uhm, theres billions, what kind are you speaking of? The point of FTP sites and not just putting files out on a public website is usually to keep them private..

To keep them private, OR to make them public. More are allowing anonymous upload and storage. One favorite of mine is a server that will download and temporarly store a file that it downloads from the source that you provide to it, allowing you a choosen place to download from.

FTP is not a good distribution method. Usenet makes more sense for widest distribution.
