I stumbled across a Linux floppy distribution that nearly brought me to tears laughing. It's called Tinfoil Hat Linux (http://tinfoilhat.shmoo.com/) and is meant "to have a safe location to encrypt and sign documents using Gnu Privacy Guard." In the process, they have created some insanely funny countermeasures like flashing morse code with your keyboard LEDs, which are all talked about in a readme (http://tinfoilhat.shmoo.com/readme.txt) that if you're in the mood for a laugh will certainly make you cry. One of the major countermeasures was something to prevent tempest (http://www.surasoft.com/tut/tempest.htm) attacks, which is really a neat little hack.

Just to keep this thread going. What are your thoughts on the tempest attacks? I saw tmp recently bring it up in vL's channel, which is what got me interested in having this post to begin with; the laugh was good, but now some actual intellectual talk would be good. Just put some opinions in and I'll add mine too =P

I heard about those years ago in Wired. Shouldn't be a problem if you live in an underground bunker, like you should if you're not just a paranoid poser :P
