YaBB.. Not terribly good security, but it hasn't got any gaping exploits.  The main problem with YaBB is that passwords are stored in plaintext without encryption, although I hacked an old version of YaBB to fix that.

Hmm, perhaps this is not possible, but i would suggest vBulletin. It's a bit bulky, shall we say, but it's very well developed and the authors are very quick to release fixes for any problems that are found.
