Title: XP Graphics Problem
Post by: iago on February 18, 2004, 07:17 PM
Since a couple days ago, I've been having problems with windows display.  The icons on my taskbar/system tray are too big.  The icons in the start menu programs are bigger than usual.  In msconfig.exe, the Services and Startup menu boxes are way too spaced out.  There's probably other problems, too, but I haven't noticed yet.

Just before it happened, I tried using my tv-out as multi monitor, which crashed windows and forced it to bluescreen.  When it rebooted, it was like this.

I tried re-installing my video card drivers, and I tried playing around with the resolution and display settings, but to no avail.

Any idea what could cause this?

You can find a screenshot here:

I included a screenshot of a folder to show the correct icon size.

Thanks for any help,
-iago

Edit: I changed the picture to show the huge spacing on msconfig.

Nevermind, fixed:

I went to Display Properties/Appearance and changed the "Windows and Buttons" to Windows Classic, then back to Windows XP style.  That somehow fixed it.

I'm just posting the solution here just in case somebody else ever has this problem :)
