Like I said, I don't play CS - So I don't know anything about it, however I do know what port it uses

If you don't know what protocol it uses, that's not very helpful.

Someone just answer the bloody question definitively?
No its not up anymore, we actually checked a couple weeks ago. Its on the server but not running.
Then fix it?!
Then give Thing money for more bandwidth then hes already generously giving us?!
Its not even a real issue of bandwidth either, it was left up unused for months.

Because it wasn't connected to the WON master servers, so no one outside of the forum(basically) would know about it. I used to play on it all the time and I would mind if it was put-back up again.
You'd mind??
Typo's are a bitch...

Why dont you give him some money your "us" thing doesn't include me he isn't giving me anything

Does the ability to post here count as "anything"?

Actually, though thats a good point and I'm not sure if anyone considered that. It wasn't connected to WON because none of us had CD-Keys lol
Denial: You post here, you use botnet I think and if you browse the web site/look or use webchannel/use bnls or have ever played on the UT server, you have Thing to thank.
Because of 1.6, everything has to be done through steam (http://www.steampowered.com/)(ing POS). Packets sent to the server might not be accepted because of some sort of authentication crap...
Unless it's running 1.5 then I wouldn't even suggest playing it.
I enjoy 1.5 more than 1.6.

I hardly use botnet just for webbot :) and yes THank you Think for supplying Vl with everything and I did play the UT server until someone kill my UT and i did play the CS server so yes Thank you Thing ---Happy Hostile?
CS is a great game, and I suggest you all start playing if you aren't already!

1.5 isn't better than 1.6, thats final !
Playing a game that requires you to download it as you play is yuk.

ya, steam sux
Introducing steam when the game was dying was a BAD choice, and 56kers weren't too happy. The game was full of glitches, lag spikes, depency on steam to be running (not very consistent) and hitboxes being screwed up, however they have smoothed that other quite a bit. Half Life 2 and Condition Zero will be steam based too, that is probably why they tested it on an old game such as counter-strike and smoothed anything out.
They're old system was better, this is like a seperate program (has a friend's list, wtf?) that is used to launch counter-strike and do other stuff.
I have been using steam for a couple months, at least, and I have found it to be amazing, yes it disconnects and updates every couple weeks, but wow, the gameplay is definately(Spelling) superior to 1.5

How so? Im gunna go run around with a shield and camp in a corner? Great bud. 1.6 just ruined the game. Tons of players world wide have stoped playing because of this patch. Just glad that CS is on Xbox ;)
Not only that, the auto sniper makes the awp look like a staple gun.

Steam is superior to 1.5? What does steam have to do with gameplay?

!very amusing indeed
yea, ive noticed alot more people using that annoying rifle
1.6 > 1.5 - Shields, autoriffle etc, just more ways to kill baby.
Also: Steam just makes it easier to play with friends(when joining pubs and pugs even with scrims.) Just right click name, and boom!

Shields sounds like reduction in kill.
Steam makes it so you have to transfer lots of data. Steam makes it bad.
I havent had any problems what so ever. Most of you are just picky about stupid things, Steam has made it easier to choose servers in game, manage your favorites better, and its more clean and relatively fast. I'm on a cable modem and I usually just play in the servers that have less than 30 ping. Sure the auto-sniper is more powerful, but thats part of the game, and killing the people who use the shield is easy.
Edit:
Oh, and most CAL servers have banned the shield, so why worry? And I rarely see people actually using it.
Raza, it is true that steam now is better, however for the first 6months the CS community was cut in half because of how crap steam was. They obviously didn't test enough/properly because the steam servers were constantly overloaded and it always crashed.
That + Steam sucks for low bandwidth connections.
Most servers ban sheild and the gay auto...it takes awhile to get used to 1.6 but once you do its good stuff :|
btw surprised login still works lol
I tried 1.6 last weekend. I played on a server where shield + awp was banned. It was rather ok.
Is the vL server still up by chance? I'd rather play on vL's server then anywhere else, and thanks Thing, for all your hosting services.
It's not up. This is because of the need for enough people to play, and not wanting to fill up capacity unless there are enough people for it to be fun.
Well, if it's a fast server, make it connect to the WON Master server so that people from outside the forum connect to it.

WON is dead, say hello to Steam.
Just put it online, please. :)
I don't believe they will be putting it back online due to the fact that the game runs crappy software (steam) and as they said, nobody played it.
I'm sure Thing could be pursuaded by certain incentive$ though ;)
Actually, I'd be glad to play on the [vL] CS server if you get it back up, 2xX's server is getting boring.
What's boring about their server?
Probably because he's played it enough to get use to it. It's probably all the same people on it anyways.
Yeah, I'm tired of playing on the same server with the same people every day! Also, They only have like.. 4 maps in the map cycle, so it's really retarted.
Sorry about that post before, I couldn't continue it because the fire alarm went off in my school (to make a long story short, I'm home from school early now) and I had to post it quick.
It's been up for almost two days now, and I haven't seen a player on it. (Steam, CS 1.6)
Probably because no one knew it was up? (Can we get an IP?)
Hmm, it's supposed to be listed on Steam..
I've never used steam to go to a public server, and I don't think it's possible to search by server name, which would leave us the option of going through 20 000 CS servers to find one name vL (and there could be many).
lol
It's on the same IP as www.
www.gametiger.com has a nice feature to search for player name, server name, etc.
You should also update http://www.valhallalegends.com/cs/index.html
Stats will get updated eventually, if we get people wanting to play and have stats.
Do you got the PODBots running or are they giveing you the same problem they are giveing me lol. They like to sit in their spawning ground and do nohing.
I do PODBot when I have no connection to the internet. I put them on my LAN server, and have never really had a problem with them.
What map are you getting this trouble on. Does it happen as soon as the server starts up? Do you have the most updated waypoint files for the map?

yes and they worked fine untill I updated to the 1.6 garbage.
