Good ol' dsl, I can sit here with my 130up/30down going full 24/7 and they won't care
I *really* hope "30down" is a horrible typo.

Good, if you were paying for dsl slower than 56k that would be a big ripoff. :P

56k can't download at 30kbps.
I haven't had 56k in a long long time, I wouldn't remember :-\
My 56k averaged about 4kps =/

It could if you are talking about kilobits [unspecified here, ambiguous!]

I was asuming kilobits since thats what transfer speed seems to be measured in.

Isn't 30 kbps typically 30000 bits per second? Should fit easily in a 56k connection? 30 kB/sec would be worse, but...
I was talking in kilobytes/second.
I transfer at 130kilobytes/second down and 30 kilobytes/second up.
56K transfers at 56kilobits/second(I'm told) or ~5kilobytes/second.
But that's not important here. What's important is what this ICMP packet is supposed to be doing.

Technically if the line was clean you should be able to transfer at exactly 7kilobytes/sec down, but depending on distance from C/O (I think this is a factor with 56k) and line static, it can go as low as 3kilobytes/sec max.

I would die if I ever had to go back to 56k then. :)
