Anyone know anything about them? I'm thinking about investing in one so I can watch TV for the little time that I am in my dorm room.
What do you mean, like a remote control?
You need to be more specific... I assume you mean to watch it on you computer in which case you need to tell us if it is a desktop or laptop. The only reason to get an external one would be for a laptop since theres much better/cheaper internal ones for desktops.

Yes a laptop. It doesn't look like there are that many options. Just wanted some input from others since I know nothing about them.
Well, I don't have one personally but I do have a Hauppauge PVR and its excelent, so I would say perhaps look into (before buying!)
Hauppauge WinTV-USB

or
Viewsonic VB50HRTV

I use a Hauppauge PCI-350 and it works for my needs. Sometimes it freezes when switching to channel 11, 12, or 13 cable, but closing the program and opening it back up lets me watch normally.

I believe Adron started work on an alternative driver that resolves many of the numerous failings in the prepackaged driver...
Err ya, the pre-packaged software (more so then the drivers which can be downloaded as well) is the problem with their Win TV 2000 software and such. You're better off with newer software which fixes everything I've seen.

Which software do you use? URL?
