Post by: TriCk on December 03, 2003, 11:14 PM
The key works except after sending 0x1E it disconnects for some reason... ive set the product as NB2W and verbyte as 4F everything seems to be calling correctly... what am i doing wrong?

What makes you say that?  He wouldn't get to 0x1e if it was an IP ban...   In fact, he wouldn't even get to 0x50.

Perhaps they are outmoding the old logon algorithm?  I don't know too much about it myself; I just know that sending 0x50 and 0x51, I don't believe I've ever sent 0x1e.

If I recall correctly, war2 is so old patch-wise that it doesn't yet use 0x50.

W2BN does support 0x50 logins.. perhaps the client itself doesn't, but you can log onto W2BN with the 0x50-type login.

Any product can use 0x50

Without regard to the truth of that assertion, I can tell you that it is a bad idea to rely on being able to do things the actual client does not do.  IMO, it's just asking to get caught in a trivial server reconfiguration.

Note that bnupdate is downloaded from the server.
