Nobody knows. Bmp is the worst format, with either no compression, or sucky compression (RLE).
I use bmp because windows likes using it for wallpaper.
And btw, that's jpg (not sure whether or not you're trying to insult my work :P)
For pictures (which usually have many colors) you should use JPG and for 8 bit screen shots (which don't have many colors) you should use PNG or GIF.
