In Korea, a game called Lineage attracts 150,000 players each night. And new technology is being introduced to allow an unlimited number of players to compete simultaneously without the constraints of individual servers.
Sounds kinda like battle.net to me. :P

Yes, counterstrike has caused a huge drop in viewers this year; hasn't counterstrike been out for years?

More people need a tv beside their computer beside their computer.  I'm currently watching Mike Bullard (I'll be you Americans haven't even heard of him!)

Or could it be that most television sucks AND because there are 12 minutes of commercials per 18 minutes of actual show?

Nah.

I always thought show lenghs where from 21 minutes to 23 minutes with the remaining 7 to 9 minutes being commercials.

There's a show called, "This hour has 22 minutes."  There's a reason for the name.

(if you haven't heard of it, it's because it's a canadian show and therefore nobody knows about it)

Depends on the popularity of the show.

I spent ~200 at the beginning of the year to buy a new 25" tv b/c the verticle sync was shot in my old tv. Sinse then I've rearranged my room with a much better setup, still yet to have the console NEXT to my computer desk. I find it though more of an annoyance to watch tv at times because yea, most of the time its a fucking commercial. We don't pay the cable bill to watch 15 reruns of the same viagra commercial. I'm a big cartoon lover, and when Cartoon network rolled out a few years back, I was extatic to find out that it was going to have NOTHING BUT cartoons, to my surprise it still had the same boring commercials and still does (Yet the shows have gotton better).

Tv would be much better without the countless commercials... such as during movies. They wouldnt have to edit the movie for time constraints if they didnt start an array of commercials every ... what is it? 10 minutes?

Point being, I basically wasted the money but in a way I guess not since playing xbox / ps2 is more fun on a bigger tv. But commercials STILL piss me off!! 8)

The US needs a system like the UK to tackle commercials. And of course we need the BBC :)

However advertisers would probably never allow it. Except on normal broadcast networks like, NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX (the big 4). For Cable/Satillite TV advertisers have the ability to pick out specific groups by a channel since Cable/Satillite TV is basically just re-run TV tailored to a specifc type of viewer, i.e. DV and his cartoon only network :P

What I hate most is seeing the same commercial (especially annoying ones like mcdonalds' new ones) in EVERY commercial break, sometimes more.  But I tend to leave my computer on the Comedy Network (Canada's answer to Comedy central) 95% of the time, since it's a good station to leave on in the background while doing other stuff.

What I hate even more is the rare occasion when they play the same commercial twice in a row.

I've never seen that happen, except when a channel changes (at night, eastern stations go off the air and are replaced by their western versions).

Advertisers love that the most because then their messages can penetrate your subconscious.

but, normally I'm conciously aware, and the annoying commercials bother me so I actively avoid whatever it is they're selling.  For example, chicken-whoppers at burger king.  I love chicken, but they had the most irritating commercial so I never bought or ate one, ever!

Yes, but you know what they are, and I bet every time you think of those, you can recall the commercial. :P
