Title: DVD Resource Grabbing
Post by: Grok on September 01, 2003, 05:59 PM
Someone give me a 101 on how to grab music and video from DVD and save it as a stand-alone file.  For example if I wanted to grab the shuttle launch sequence from Armageddon, how do I go about that?  Or if I wanted to rip the audio of a Clint Eastwood quote and save to a .wav file.  How do I do that?

There was a really good site all about that, and I'm racking my mind trying to remember the name..

ah, www.doom9.net .. try looking there!

Gordian Knot was pretty ok last time I tried it. I'm assuming you want to recode it to an .avi, not just copy out a part in mpeg2 format?

Right now I just want to grab miscellaneous video and sound clips for use on web pages, programs, etc.  So .avi would probably be a good format.

Grok, I'm not sure exactly if what I use would work for you, so ask me about it next time you see me. Firsthand is always better, imo. :P
