Someone give me a 101 on how to grab music and video from DVD and save it as a stand-alone file. For example if I wanted to grab the shuttle launch sequence from Armageddon, how do I go about that? Or if I wanted to rip the audio of a Clint Eastwood quote and save to a .wav file. How do I do that?
There was a really good site all about that, and I'm racking my mind trying to remember the name..
ah, www.doom9.net .. try looking there!
Gordian Knot was pretty ok last time I tried it. I'm assuming you want to recode it to an .avi, not just copy out a part in mpeg2 format?
Right now I just want to grab miscellaneous video and sound clips for use on web pages, programs, etc. So .avi would probably be a good format.
*gasps*
You can't put copyrighted material on the Internet!!

Not sure if thats what you were looking for.
To combine iago's and my advice:
Guide to using Gordian Knot available from doom9 (http://www.doom9.org/gknot-main3.htm)
I'll try those suggestions sometime soon. Thanks everyone.
Grok, I'm not sure exactly if what I use would work for you, so ask me about it next time you see me. Firsthand is always better, imo. :P
