Considering the fact I stopped playing Sierra games years ago Im ignorant on the topic. Do I need Counter Strike Ground Zero or is Counter Strike an "expansion" to Half Life? Please explain so I can join the leetness 8)

It's a Half Life mod, freely downloadable from, well, somewhere.

To play on vL.com you need the latest (I think), which is 1.6 (I think)

You need CS 1.5 to play on vl.com. CS 1.6 hasn't been released yet.

You can get CS 1.5 from www.counter-strike.net.

Btw, CS 1.6 is called Condition Zero, not Ground Zero ;)

CS 1.6 is not called condition zero. Condition zero is a new game entirly. CS 1.6 will have a few new guns, updated graphics (explosions from CS:CZ), and a riot sheild (fun fun). Although they are trying to make the games very similar, they aren't the same thing. I think the CS 1.6 beta is out, if you wanna go check and see. :)

Meh, i guess you got one of those member passes for the privy servers, i dont, and i dont think many people do :P
