Patch 1.23
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
FEATURES
- Battle.net now uses a new banner ad system.
FIXES
- Fixed an exploit where an altered custom map would be seen identical to
the original custom map.
- Fixed an issue where some patches could not apply on Intel Macs.
Verbyte: 23 (0x17)
Hashes: Here (http://rcb.realityripple.com/hashes/)
No idea what the new banner ad system is. When I logged in, it was still using MNG, but the official client doesn't seem to show ads at all.
Weird, you're right. It just leaves the "Welcome to Battle.net" banner up there, doesn't display any ads.
The client doesn't send Ad requests. My guess is the server will be sending ad data without a request when they update the servers.
What do you mean "when they update the servers"?

Maybe they're going to do apt-get update, or something?

Heh, nah. ::)
Sixen, didn't we already go over how they probably keep things the same for a while so that people who are still logged in on old clients don't get weird results?
And there's still no ads.

old news but, there's a new version of battle.net coming.
Also, Blizzard went on a huge banning spree. All of the cd-keys I used for my bots got banned. The D3scene keys are all banned, etc.
Anyone else experience anything similar?

www.battle.net's got the same page. They just added a WoW account merger to the old-new BNet accounts.

Ironically enough, the Battle.net Accounts only benefit World of Warcraft players currently..
"Legacy" battle.net accounts are not effected.

Q: I already have a classic Battle.net account that I made for StarCraft, Warcraft III, and/or Diablo II. Can I just use that?
A: No, the new Battle.net Accounts are separate from classic Battle.net accounts for StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II. To allow for the Battle.net features we have planned, we've built the new Battle.net Account system from the ground up for World of Warcraft and upcoming games such as StarCraft II and Diablo III. In order to play Warcraft III, Diablo II, and StarCraft on Battle.net, you will still need to log in using your "classic" Battle.net login information.
It would make the most sense that Blizzard is only offering this conglomerated account functionality to World of Warcraft, Starcraft 2, and Diablo 3 users.
Blizzard has allowed you to assign emails to battle.net accounts for over a couple years. they're just now allowing you to give your email a password and log on to the battle.net website/games.
In world of warcraft, you enter your email and password to log in where you can access your characters. similarly, i imagine when starcraft 2 and diablo 3 are released, you will log on with your email, choose your server, and be able to access whatever accounts are bind to your email without requiring a password. or maybe there'll be a new namespace and it won't work like that at all *shrug*
is it just me, or isn't neglected fury working? Or even stealthbot, for that matter.

Perhaps I missed something, but how is this related to the rest of this thread?
