Title: New Starcraft CD Keys?
Post by: CrAzY on December 09, 2008, 10:34 AM
I'm sure this isn't new news but its been a while since I've been on battle.net so please bare with me.

So I went to Wal-Mart and picked up a new "Starcraft Battle Chest."  To my shock when I opened the package the CD key consisted of 26 Letters/Numbers rather than the usual 13 numbers that I am use to.

My question is are these CD Keys possible for use on bots?  I've read alot about this whole "warden" crap and see people have figured out ways around the Starcraft bot problem but I have a weird mutant key.

(And no please don't tell me to just install Starcraft and use the ordinary interface for Bnet)

Thanks,

Tim

There are a couple bots out there which support the new key, but there are no public chat oriented bots which support the latest sc warden.  So your best bet is to log on with another client key

I'm bumping this thread for good reason. I felt that this thread ended with unconfirmed information.

Is War3 CDKey decoding and hashing really the solution to a 26 characters in length Starcraft CDKey? I know virtually nothing about these 26 character CDKeys for Starcraft so I'd just like for someone to confirm if what brew said is fact or not.

This afternoon I plugged in the 26-digit key from registering my old key to my Battle.net account.  Interesting results.

From the new key:
[16.14.27] Connecting...
[16.14.27] Connected!
[16.14.29] Versioning passed!
[16.14.29] Login succeeded!

From the old key:
[16.14.32] Connecting...
[16.14.32] Connected!
[16.14.34] Versioning check failed; CdKeyInUse
[16.14.34] Disconnected.

Yes, it's the same decoding as Warcraft 3.

From my test with SC client, old key was banned.

Based on the fact that they were able to detect that mine was online, probably.

Yes, any restrictions placed on the old CDKey will be present on the new game key.
