I was wondering, how would you get an IP (and maybe match it to thier account/character name) in a Diablo II Game, since I have heard that it cannot be done in the channels.
I think D2 is all client to server, meaning the clients never see each other like they did in UDP games like D1, SC, and War2.
Oh, one time somebody told me they had got my IP from a game, they never told me my IP so I just thought they were full of shit. But then i saw somewhere where you can get the IP from a game (it didn't say which game client though) so i was just curious.

You might want to wait till someone more familiar with the game protocol posts before giving up...
I know in SC when I hosted a game, i traced my packets and found out the other peoples IP addresses. But I don't know if this goes the same for D2.
