Title: How to use cookies with inet.execute [msinet.ocx]
Post by: Elneroth on February 03, 2007, 06:00 PM
I'm having trouble setting cookies while using the execute subroutine in the msinet control.

msinet.execute "http://www.mywebsite.com/", "POST", "variable=value", "Badname: blarrr!" & vbNewLine & "Cookie: name=value"

I've tried all different ways but can not figure out how to make msinet use the cookies I put into InputHdrs. All of the headers I put are used except cookies.

I've been trying to find a solution for hours.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried the right to left technique?

You wave a large industrial magnet over your hard drive from right to left

Get used to it, topaz is never helpful.

edit: Never heard of using cookies with inet.execute. Could probably be done though, but not sure.

Look, I know from your earlier post in your intro thread that you're an idiot, but I don't think you can be this stupid.

Topaz, I've found your entire philosophy on life:

So what's so idiotic about this inquisitor, anyway? He's just trying to figure out how to use the INet control with cookies.

This is inappropriate, and thus I am making an example of you.  15-day non-posting ban.  Try to subvert it and I'll make it permanent.

The thing about cookies is that, as a web site developer, you probably don't want people spoofing cookies in this way.  Chances are that you won't be able to make the MSInet control send any cookies you want; it's likely a restricted header in the control itself.

Again, it's likely that this is not allowed because of security.  You could potentially use this to break into sites that have access controls.

There is no non-stupid question that you know the answer to, though..
