Today I installed Slackware 10.2 on my computer and now when I try to do startx its giving me an fatal 104 error message and when I check the log it's telling me I am missing font files and I can't figure out how to fix this problem can sombody please help me out.
You could try installing Ubuntu instead, you'd be able to manage that better.
I am fine with slackware I just can't figure out how to fix this error I looked on google but can't find anything to help me out.
Try installing the font packages from the Slackware disc. If that fails, reinstall FTW!

Err, topaz is right. If you don't even know how to install fonts, consider using a more simple distro, or actually looking at the links you found on Google.

Slackware is just fine to start out with, so there's no real reason to point him to another distro.

Not ready for Slackware, and almost not ready for Ubuntu.

What's the purpose of the link?
And personally, anyone is ready for anything as long as they're willing to start from scratch. This is, of course, in respect to linux, but can be applied to just about everything else there is in the world.
