Ive just noticed, if you request the MOTD with a starcraft client, it will IPBan you. Whats up with that?

Probably because you are violating the protocol for starcraft.

Starcraft doesn't utilize the Battle.net clan feature implemented by Blizzard. So you can't use something that isn't there.
