I'm assuming you've tried Adblock (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1865/)?

Flashblock (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/433/) is what I use.  It replaces all Flash objects with a "play" button, which you can click to start the flash animation.  It's totally sweet.

Adblock worked great, along with a list that I found somewhere. Google should find it pretty easily.
