any link i try to visit to get to that link results in failure, is there a reason for this?  my guess would be they're just moving servers or soemthing, but i'm not sure.  any answer is appreciated

Yup I'm working on it now.  Looks like one of the services, possibly VMWare (since that's the newest thing we installed) interfered with IIS somehow.
