My copy of Norton is less than legitimate, and I cannot uninstall it. When I try to uninstall, it says it can't find uninstall.msi and asks for a cd or location of the file. I cannot end the process(es) and manually delete the file because I... well can't end them. I click End Process and nothing happens. I need Norton uninstalled so I can install PC Cillin.
Thanks in advance.
Did you try putting in the CD you installed from?

I don't think he'll be getting a cd any time soon.
Try safe-mode.
try symnrt.exe

Then it shouldn't be installed and he deserves any problems it caused.
But in any case, he should still have a CD that he installed from?

Not necessarily. Depending on how disreputable his supplier was, he might've just been given a package of files in some compressed file and installed from there. I tend to agree he deserves the outcome. Not only did he install stolen software, but to pick something which
even when legitimate integrates that tightly into the system, and then grab a copy of unknown integitry and stick
that in... that's just asking for trouble IMO.

Start > Run > services.msc > stop all Symantec BS > Restart > and delete the files
Ah ok, I'll try all of the above when I get home. Thanks a lot guys!
