Perhaps because that was the way it was designed.

WebBot was programmed to only support the StarCraft protocol. There is no way to use another product's CD key with this protocol, without at least minor modifications. Seeing as how WebBot is closed source, you'll need to

1) Request that the source be opened so you can modify it (good luck)
2) Request that other protocols be added (could happen, probably not)
3) Live with it (most likely)

What are the odds of him knowing how to do so?

How quick you people are to judge... what ever happened to the old vL forums? Oh yeah... I remember, WoW came out :-P

Mesiah use your brain. Not saying that Megaman is unintelligent, but if he knew exactly how to do what we were discussing, would he even ask such a question? Would someone experienced in the area ask if there was a possible way in changing the way the bot functions?

Does his inexperience warrant you being an asshole?

Whose inexperience are you referring to? I assume it isn't Mesiah because I know he's pretty intelligent, if you're referring to Megaman then I said what I said earlier because Joe mentioned that he (he as in Megaman) could program his own webbot, clearly Megaman does not yet have the skill to complete such a task. I simply said that it's not likely that he will know how to go about creating his own webbot. Only I used the following words:
"What are the odds of him knowing how to do that?"
Then after a few responses someone mentioned how people are "too quick to judge", then I made a post and you came along.

Who is to say that saying "use your brain" is being an asshole?

/me raises his hand.

That aside, another way to do this is to make some sort of cross-through gateway, in which Starcraft authentication packets are replaced with Diablo II (or WarCraft II, or StarCraft Japanese (which uses the same CDkeys, ftr)). This is probably as much work as just doing the entire bot over.

I hear Spht is coming out with a new WebBot that allows you to use different game products and has many more features.

IIRC, someone else *cough* was supposed to be writing this new WebBot.  I wonder whatever happened to that project...and all his other ones...

I believe he's referring to himself in some kind of bizarre third-person narrative.
