Title: Mouse+Keyboard Port, Using Both?
Post by: Joe[x86] on September 08, 2005, 06:29 PM
Hey, on this Compaq (not the one refered to in the other thread, this is a Prolinea 5100), I've got a single PS2 port, marked KBD/Mouse (ok, no, its got the cool little drawings, but you catch my drift). I've got a cable that is a little hookup thing, with two PS2 females and a PS2 male, so I can hook two keyboards up at once. Would this work for a keyboard and mouse, or would their input interfere with eachother?

Sounds like it's designed for keyboard and mouse, the way you're describing it.

The mouse got its butt ondetected. Ouch!

Your solution would probably work. However, it's easier to grab a USB keyboard (or mouse) instead -- decent mice tend to be USB with USB-PS/2 converters included anyways. :)

Yeah, I use a USB mouse on JoeMomma. This one doesn't have USB though. Its one of those second-hand testing boxes I get biweekly.

We had several servers like that.  There is a little adapter to plug a keyboard/mouse into the same port.
