Title: Google Earth - Hot earth spots
Post by: Netcooler on July 17, 2005, 12:10 PM
So we've all heard of Google Earth (http://earth.google.com). And we've all searched for our own houses, the Eiffel tower, and Sealand (didn't find Sealand).
But, we are out of cool places to look for, or we can't find what we look for.

So, this is a thread for all of you to post your favorite places, with coordinates please.

Here are some to start:
Area 51 (37° 14' 28 N, 115° 48' 32 W)
Space Needle (47° 37' 14 N, 122° 20' 57 W)
Cape Canaveal launching pads (28° 29' 44 N, 80° 33' 05 W)
Niagara Falls (43° 04' 39 N, 79° 04' 31 W)

Enjoy  ::)

Area 51 stuff: http://www.ufomind.com/area51/ref/latitude.html

(Easy to search for Rachel, NV first, then go about 25 minutes west):

Now lets get some Nazca lines coordinates...Because the Nazca lines are magnificent and probably can be seen from sattelite anyways.  Now, how did they make them?

Nazca lines in peru should be here (-14.69573745363949,-75.13345443381422) but you cant get close enough to see them.

Egypt, Pyramids (29.97599336814104,31.13094635390102)

Edit: my bad had to switch around those numbers lol.

The nazca lines are lame. The 4km tall Maree Man (http://perljam.net/cgi-bin/google-earth.cgi/3268.kml?location_id=3268) is so much cooler.
