You should probably call nVidia tech support.

Jamming an AGP card into a PCI socket is never a good idea.

Seriously though, check to make sure that your memory is seated completely, and that your card is plugged in all the way.

Go back to the store where you bought it and complain and get a new one.

I would ditch the Geforce 4. Its extremley outdated now. A newer okish card will cost you only about  $40(£25). I just bought a ATI Saphire x700 256mb car today for about $170(£100). It was given good reviews in magazines.

Maybe outdated, but not underrated.

I have the GForce 6800 and it kicks a** for what i need it for.

The 6800 is a very good card. Its very new and extremley powerful and rates high. But most new games need a newer card to function proerley which is why im upgrading from the ATI Radeon 9200SE to the Radeon x700.

Try uninstalling the onboard video from the device manager.  Uninstall the nvidia drivers if you have them installed.  Power down computer and put in the video card.  Boot up and it should recognize both the video card and onboard video as new devices, just skip the onboard video and install the nvidia drivers for the card when it asks you.

Maybe I should ditch my broadband and go to dialup, and use the money I save to buy a new video card since they seem to help so much with internet latency.

I suppose it could help slightley as your computer would be having less strugle to handle the movement so faster response time.
