I am unable to download the file Icons_STAR.BNI from Battle.net's FTP v1.
Does this file still get used by StarCraft? What happend to it?
My account should have the WCG icon tomorrow at 8:00 PM, and I wanted to see if they already have the WCG icons in the BNI file.
Any ideas?
First you insult half of the vL members, now ask for help? ...
But onto the question:
If you are getting this WCG icon tommorow, then it is used? Why not try open it with Skywing's icon viewer or something.
QuoteFirst you insult half of the vL members, now ask for help? ...
He has a good point, don't expect too much help on this after your previous posts.
On topic: http://www.valhallalegends.com/skywing/ <-- *poke*
Knock yourself out.
I also find it unlikely that Blizzard would update the STAR bni and not use it, so it is therefore likely that it is still used at one point or another...
WARNING: THE ICON VIEWER IS FROM SKYWING, THE AUTHOR YOU INSULTED, MAYBE ITS A TROJAN!!! (idiot. thnx to skywing you can prove this)

You have to be using Starcraft to download it. Don't come back and say it doesn't work, I just did it twice on both classic and expansion

You all missed the point. Perhaps I wasn't specific enough.
I've had Skywing's BNI viewer for a while. It works fine...
The problem is: Icons_STAR.bni does not exist!
Where does StarCraft get its icons now?
I have no BNI files with the WCG player icons but I know StarCraft gets them from somewhere. Too bad I don't have the game or I would packet log it.
Also, where does WAR3 get the WCG icons? Are they built into the Icons MPQ or are they downloaded?
I found these in SC/BW's MPQ's
Dunno if the icon in question is there:
hope that helps.
[edit] removed images, see below

Did you extract these from the MPQ's yourself?
Just after you posted yes

Why so many dupes?
Hmm not sure, i had to remove alot of dupe images, but it might be because i extracted StarDat.mpq and BrooDat.mpq into the same folder.
I was thinking possibly for back up copys?
There were some other ones as well, but i dont think they were the icon your talking about.
(They look like a 2nd set of melee stars / ranked / unranked icons but could be for kbk or somthing)

Do me a favor and go to Clan DC on USWest and take a print screen of the channel list. My account is there with the stat string:
PXES 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 LPCW
I'd really like to see this icon and add it to my client emulator.

Should be all you need, all of then are extracted form .bni and MPQ files.

You could have just downloaded this (http://ftp.blizzard.com/pub/starcraft/demos/SCDemo.exe) and gave it ago.
I also noticed the file name wasnted hashed... if you feel like starting a new topic like your last one about this, then you could do it HERE (http://www.battle.net/forums/board.aspx?ForumName=suggestions) ;)
Also i tolk some time to extract defalt SC/BW/W2/D1 icons for anyone who doesnt already have them and would like to include them into there bot.

Earlier on today, I was unable to download Icons_STAR.bni.
Then I just tried it and it worked. Strange.
Ringo, what MPQ do you find your icons in? StarDat, War2Dat?
Quote from: Deception on May 10, 2005, 12:41 AM
What are these for?
I've never seen them before. I'd assume they were used in StarCraft beta or something?
Just to answer the last question:
Them icons can be found in starcraft and warcraft MPQ archives, when taking a second look, SC/W2 both have PGL icons as defalt as well as these icons.
I would guess they were designed for PGL stats or some sort.
(seems as the kbk icons have a 1 - 5 stats bar ratio)
Just a guess tho.
Stay on topic.
Mass deletions bore me.

Heh. You know a lot about Battle.net. Pehaps you know what those icons are for? (The blue ones that resemble win icons)?
