I've got a straight red line across before blue did and I still don't win... :-(

Blue gets more squares coloured down when you click than the red.

Red: 2
Blue: 4

U cant win..

That's always the case. Blue is one step behind you as long as you keep moving. If you mess up, blue will be one step ahead of you and you'll lose.
