Good, because science needs your help in solving 13 things that do not make sense (http://www.newscientist.com/channel/space/mg18524911.600):
1 The placebo effect
2 The horizon problem
3 Ultra-energetic cosmic rays
4 Belfast homeopathy results
5 Dark matter
6 Viking's methane
7 Tetraneutrons
8 The Pioneer anomaly
9 Dark energy
10 The Kuiper cliff
11 The Wow signal
12 Not-so-constant constants
13 Cold fusion
Good luck...
The placebo effect is mental, and has already been solved. What's up, anyways? Why this? Why now? It's all so random....

I assume you are referring to the Moon Illusion.
Distance cues, my friend, distance cues.

5 Dark matter
thats matter that is believed to make up 90% of the universe. but it cant be seen cause it doesnt emit electromagnetic radiation like radios or lights. of course nobody knows if it exists :P.
How about you guys actually read the article.
Mangix's post is just a reworded version of that part of the article. :P

That would spoil our fun, duh.
no kidding
i doubt they are going to offer any scientific breakthroughs.. they cant even read the damn article ;)
some of that was interesting but most of it was way over my head anyway
I liked them, but some of it is inaccurate. For example: a rock is dark matter. I win.
