It really doesn't belong on the .NET forum.  Adding a button to a form is the same in VB5 as it is in VB6 as it is in VB7 as it is in 2005.

VB.Net 2005 Express edition is free for a reason. It does not compile exe's, although it does have a Run button.  :)

!? It does? I took a look at it along with C++Express and it didn't look like it was there...

You don't need someone to teach you, you're looking for this 'quick fix' tutorial guide or for someone to take their spare time and send a thousand IM's about Visual Basic.

THERE ARE MANY TUTORIALS OUT THERE FOR SPECIFIC APPLICATION SKILLS AND GENERAL VISUAL BASIC PROGRAMMING. There are also books, online articles, newbie forums, etc. Try www.google.com.

Sniper just try mucking around on vb. And reading books, and this forum. And maybe other ones.

But the way i did it, was to muck around with code, while reading the book so i learnt.

How do you think anything is even executed then? Try looking in the bin folder within your project and there is your exe.

VB3, 5 and 6 execute your project in the IDE without generating an exe file.

Regardless, VB 2005 generates an exe, even in the express editions.
